Rarely Seen Photos Of Charles That Capture The King’s Fun Side
As the longest-serving heir apparent to the British throne, King Charles' life has been all about duty: duty to his mother the Queen, duty to his country, and duty to his new role as King. Because of this, you may think that Charles is nothing but a spoiled stuffed shirt, though that couldn't be further from the truth! From time to time, Charles lets loose and proves to the world that he knows how to have fun. And when his playful side comes out, it can't be tamed!
"Where's Waldo?"
Yep, the future king of England looks a lot like the king of hide-and-seek in this photo! All that's missing is the character's red and white striped shirt. Among a sea of reporters, though, Charles always sticks out — hence the silly disguise. We're not sure how helpful the disguise was, however. After all, if you're wearing a bright red hat on a ski slope covered in white snow, you're going to get noticed.
Cloudy with a chance of coronation
Has Charles discovered a new passion late in life? He may have been born to be king, but predicting the weather and making cheeky puns about the rain just may be his true calling. We can totally picture him wearing a yellow rain slicker and holding a microphone in the middle of Glasgow.

Charles in a trashcan... the jokes write themselves, no? In all seriousness, though, the then-prince had an affinity for performing — and for making people laugh! As a member of the Dryden Society, a drama club at Trinity College, a young Charles appeared in humorous skits and sketches. Perhaps being part of an ensemble was a refreshing change for the future king!
A fetching pair of spectacles
There are plenty of words we could use to describe King Charles, but "cool" isn't one of them. Charles just doesn't have the carefree vibe one needs in order to rock a pair of sunnies like these. Judging by what was going on in his personal life at the time this pic was taken — his marriage to Diana had reached a very public breaking point — we doubt even a leather jacket and a motorcycle could've made him look relaxed!
